Week 3 Hot Topic

For this week's Hot Topic post a recipe or a link to a recipe that has whole grain in it.  This can be any type of recipe your family likes!

This link has a naughty word in it so I'm not listing it!  :)
I should probably add that, I did not get this last picture from it's actual site, but they did list the site, and I didn't like the site name, so I just crop it out of the pic.

  4. Whole Wheat waffles
Blend in blender on high for 4 min.:
    1 c. + 1 T. Whole Wheat
    1 ½ c. milk
    Add: 3 eggs
    ¼ c. oil
    2 t. b. powder
    1 t. b. soda
1 T. honey or br. Sugar

When you get done you look at it and think, "What this looks too runny?!" But, nope it's right and it rises in the waffle iron. We love them!

  6. Honey Grahams (Dallin's been loving these this week)
Mix: 2 c. whole wheat flour
    2 t. baking powder
    1/4 t. salt
    3 T. brown sugar
Cut in: 1/2 c. soft margarine
Mix and add: 2 T. honey (we put in closer to 3 to make the dough stick together enough)
    2 T. milk

Roll on floured surface. Cut to cracker size with knife. Make "sections" by sliding knife over cracker. Make holes by pricking with fork. Can sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar before baking. Put on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 until light brown. Sorry - I'm not sure of how long - we baked ours for a lot longer than I expected, and I just kept checking them!
